Their music includes original tunes written and arranged by Steve Harris as well as a long list of award winning songwriters that flow with rich lyrics and tuneful melodies. Furthermore, Circa Blue makes every song fit like a familiar old shoe in the studio by performing each tune effortlessly, adding rich instrumental riffs and smooth vocal harmonies. Their audiences love them and the band continues to hold a strong following of fans.
Steve Harris is the band leader who sings lead and harmony vocals and plays the guitar. Steve has been recording, producing and performing for many years. He is known for his smooth voice and his ability to communicate with his audience through song and entertainment.
Katelyn Casper comes from the state of Maryland and brings her vocal and fiddle talents to the band. She is a fresh talent who offers a new twist to Circa Blue’s sound. She always adds an exciting twist to the band’s stage show as well as the fan’s experience!
Jacob Bly is a multi-instrumentalist who plays the bass and provides vocals in Circa Blue. He grew up honing his musical skills playing banjo throughout the Shenandoah Valley with favorites such as Bud’s Collective, Banana Express, and Joseph Hott & The Short Mountain Boys. He began to play bass while studying at Virginia Tech and now brings his diverse musical background to Circa Blue.
Ryan Mullan from Alexandria, Virginia, is currently serving as a drum instrumentalists with the United States Old Guard Fife & Drum Corps. He offers his talents as a vocalists and mandolin player to Circa Blue. Ryan is a graduate of East Tennessee State University and West Virginia State University where he earned degrees in music with a concentration in percussion performance.
Matt Hickman plays the banjo in Circa Blue. He first learned how to play the “clawhammer” style and later began to play Earl Scruggs’ “bluegrass” style three-finger roll banjo technique. Matt has had several years of experience with many seasoned bands. He also is an accomplished instrumental songwriter, and many of his original tunes are used in Circa Blue’s live shows!
